Malta National Aquarium ticket
Mediterranean and tropical sea life in St Paul's Bay — great with kids or on a rainy day.
About this experience
The Malta National Aquarium is in Qawra, St Paul's Bay, inside a starfish-shaped building on the seafront. It is the perfect plan with children, on a windy or rainy day, or simply to understand what lives in the water around the island.
It has 51 tanks and more than 250 species: fish from the Mediterranean and far beyond, freshwater and saltwater, jellyfish, reptiles, amphibians and insects. The star is the walk-through tunnel in the main tank, with fish passing over your head.
The exhibits are themed around milestones in Malta's history and each tank recreates the natural habitat of its species. The route also explains the threats to the local seabed and the aquarium's conservation work.
