Mdina & Rabat guided walking tour

The Silent City's walls, alleys and viewpoints with a local guide.

About this experience

Mdina, the Silent City, is Malta's old capital: a walled town on a hilltop in the centre of the island, lined with medieval and baroque palaces, churches and convents. It is still the seat of the bishop and home to Maltese noble families, as it was when it was called Città Notabile.

The tour starts at Mdina's main gate, by the bridge, with an introduction to the city's history. Then, with a licensed local guide, you wander its narrow medieval streets, its palaces and its viewpoints over half of Malta.

A stone's throw away is Rabat, the town that grew outside the walls: its old quarter of traditional Maltese architecture closes the visit. The tour lasts two hours, is in English and is wheelchair accessible.
