How to Get to Comino & the Blue Lagoon in 2026

The Blue Lagoon on Comino is Malta's most famous swimming spot — a shallow bay of crystal-clear turquoise water between Malta and Gozo. Getting there, however, needs a little planning: Comino has no bridge, no cars and, since recently, a government entry pass.

Here is exactly how our full-day trip works, what it costs, and the one document you must sort out yourself before you go.

The boat trip from St Julian's

Our Comino & Blue Lagoon full-day trip departs daily at 10:00 from Welbee's Supermarket, Pendergardens, St Julian's — please arrive 20 minutes early for check-in. The return transfer is included, and you get the whole day at the lagoon for swimming and snorkeling.

The price is €30 per person, paid online when you book, and the season runs daily until 31 August. Capacity is limited to around 30 guests per departure, and summer days genuinely sell out — book a few days ahead in July and August.

The mandatory Comino entry QR (don't skip this)

The Maltese government requires an entry pass (QR code) for Comino island. It is NOT included in any boat trip and operators cannot sell it — you must get it yourself at blcomino.com/product/blue-lagoon before your trip and bring the QR on your phone.

Without the QR you can be refused entry to the island, so treat it as step one of your booking, not an afterthought.

What to bring

  • Your Comino entry QR on your phone (mandatory)
  • Swimwear and sunscreen — you'll be in the water most of the day
  • Snorkeling gear if you have it (also available for hire on site)
  • Food and drinks, or cash for the kiosks — meals are not included
  • A valid photo ID for check-in

Is there a guide on board?

No — this is a boat transfer with the crew on board to help during the crossing, not a guided tour. Once you arrive, the day at the lagoon is yours: swim, snorkel, explore the coves, and be back at the boat for the return crossing.
